Representation and Political Ideology



Look at the front cover of this newspaper. These articles are representing a group of people as victims through the use of pathos (creating sympathy for a group by evoking feelings for them). It is strange that all of the newspapers appear to be following the same political ideology.
This photo story was a turning point for the coverage about migrants and refugees. Prior to this The Daily Mail were publishing ideas about mass migration which suggested a more critical viewpoint. There was also a huge amount of controversy attached to the language used to name the migrants/refugees.
